When you enroll in courses at the Electrical Technology Academy of Central Pennsylvania, you have the opportunity to earn wages while you learn, earn college credits, complete an apprenticeship program, and gain outstanding earning power and qualifications that are recognized across the United States and Canada! You'll receive skilled training and become prepared to work as an IBEW Journeyman Wireman.
Applications may be picked up in person during business hours or completed online. Pre-requisites include a valid driver’s license and successful completion of algebra at high school or higher level. You must also reside in the jurisdiction of IBEW Local Union 607 for one year. A map and description of the jurisdiction can be found below.
IBEW Local Union 607 has jurisdiction over inside work in the following Pennsylvania counties:
Columbia: Entire County except Berwick Borough
Montour: Entire County
Northumberland: Entire County except Delaware, Lewis and Turbot Townships and the Borough of Milton
Schuylkill: Upper Mahantango, Eldred, Butler, Barry, New Castle, E. Norwegian, Cass, Branch, Foster, Reilly, Frailey, Hegins, Hubley, Porter townships and Frackville Borough in their entirety and that portion of Norwegian township north of US Highway 209 from Branch township to Pottsville
Snyder: Entire County north of US Highway 522 including Selinsgrove
Union: East Buffalo and Union townships and Lewisburg Borough
Applicants will be contacted, tested and selected in the Spring each year for the upcoming apprenticeship class of that current year. April 25th is the cutoff date for each years applications. Applications received after the cutoff date will be saved and the applicant will be contacted for the next years testing and selection process.
