I am a local skilled tradesperson. I’m writing to ask that you do what you can to support the Encina Point Township Circular Manufacturing Facility. Encina is committing to prioritizing local workers by hiring contractors affiliated with local building trades unions.This means that Encina is creating true living-wage jobs for workers that are permanent members of the community. These workers will include skilled journey-level workers with experience building and maintaining our hospitals, schools, power plants, water treatment plants, manufacturing facilities and more, as well as apprentices excited to learn a trade on projects that they’ll be proud to look back on through their careers. Our livelihoods depend on these projects.
This project will benefit nearby communities, the environment, and local skilled labor, bringing around 600 to 900 construction jobs to the area for a 2-year construction period, as well as 300 permanent jobs to run and maintain the facility. Thank you for any support you can offer.
